MLK Labor Endorses Lisa Herbold in Seattle D1 and 8 others across South King County
This week, MLK Labor delegates voted to endorse eight candidates running for municipal office in South King County and Lisa Herbold in Seattle District 1. This follows earlier Seattle endorsements for Debora Juarez, and fellow delegates Andrew Lewis and Emily Myers.
We are gearing up for several high-profile elections in 2019. We’re hoping to build off successes in Burien and Auburn two years ago by electing more union members to office.
You can track our 2019 endorsements at MLKLabor.org/endorsements.
Monday: Earth Day Rally for Transit Passes at UW
On Earth Day (Monday), a group of UW employees and community organizations are holding a rally and press conference calling on UW to provide fully-subsidized transit passes to ALL UW employees.
About half the UW workforce already won free transit passes starting on July 1. But we believe all employees deserve this benefit. This is more than a worker issue — it’s about climate justice.
If you can, please join workers on Monday!
Otherwise, you can email UW administration here and tell them to provide all employees a free transit pass.
