Position Summary

The Opportunity: Skagit Valley College (SVC) is seeking qualified teacher-scholars for two (2) full-time, tenure track Nursing Faculty openings. You will provide classroom and practical instruction in Nursing, including the use of a high-tech skills laboratory. You will have the opportunity to take part in hands-on instruction that will position students to excel in the fast-growing Nursing health occupation. SVC engages with regional providers and community organizations, contributing to a workforce that demands highly skilled healthcare professionals. The SVC Nursing program is nationally accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) and approved by the Washington State Department of Health Nursing Care Quality Assurance Commission (NCQAC). Faculty in the program provide students with the skills they need to succeed in nursing practice.  Courses are offered at two campus locations: Mount Vernon Campus and Whidbey Island Campus located in Oak Harbor.

SVC Nursing Faculty teach an equivalent of 15 credits per quarter (3 classes) and participate in college service. One of the openings is anticipated to start as soon as possible after Winter Quarter, January 2022. The other opening is anticipated to start in Fall Quarter, September 2022.

These are District-wide positions, expected to work at both the Mount Vernon Campus and the Whidbey Island Campus. These positions will be called upon to teach at either campus regardless of where the position is primarily based.

This position is eligible for an additional High-Demand salary enhancement stipend beyond the initial faculty salary placement.
