Position Summary:
Kitchen Tech is responsible for maintaining, modifying, troubleshooting, and repairing a large inventory of electric commercial kitchen equipment and appliances. The kitchen equipment technician’s job description entails fielding, prioritizing, and carrying out service support requests by in-person inspections and from an online work order system.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist in major repairs and upgrades and participating in large-scale maintenance duties as part of the dinning team.
  • Document procedures, processes, and best practices in on-plan sets and end-user manuals or modify what has previously been documented.
  • Perform preventative maintenance as well as scheduled predictive maintenance checks following manufacturers’ recommendation and/or as assigned.
  • Provide on-site support during special events as well as during off hours, holidays, and weekends.
  • Installing new equipment, repairing leaks, maintaining settings on wiring controls, and replacing malfunctioning or old parts.
  • Maintain inventory to ensure that tools and equipment are properly maintained.
  • Perform repairs and maintenance duties on a wide variety of kitchen and refrigeration equipment such as walk-in freezers, industrial-sized steam cookers, refrigerators, ice machines, washers, ovens, dryers, cooktops, dishwashers, and water fountains.
  • Carry out periodic inspection, cleaning, and equipment servicing
  • Install new equipment; perform repairs on leaks; ensure settings on wiring controls; change equipment parts that have become old or fail
  • Respond to emergency calls on equipment repair issues, as well as to after work hour calls
  • Assist the Chief Engineer & Director of Engineering to implement an effective program for all electrical components and systems.
  • Support the successful completion of 50 NHL games, 20 WNBA games, 80 major music/entertainment events, and 25 miscellaneous events each year.
  • Maintain, repair, organize, and clean all building systems, tools, and related equipment.
  • Perform light plumbing repairs.
  • Maintain, inspect, and repair all kitchen equipment in the arena.
  • Assist in required daily, weekly, monthly, semi-annual, and annual required building inspections, and institute required corrections and/or Preventative Maintenance systems and schedules as needed.
  • Work with subcontractors and vendors as required to carry out the various responsibilities of such 3rd party services.
  • Manage work requests and preventative maintenance requirements through an on-line work order system including, responding to all service calls, and verifying completion.
  • Promote a safe working environment for all employees by following the life safety and emergency program as needed.
  • Coordinate operations activities with other building departments and show-related contractors.
  • Perform other duties assigned as needed to assist in the management of responsibilities associated with the facility.
