The program prepares students who hold an associate degree with contextualized instruction for managerial careers. The BASAM program operates on a cohort model and follows a spiral instructional design. The spiral design means that curriculum is integrated within each quarter and between quarters.

Part-time faculty positions are typically filled on a quarterly basis. Part-time faculty are responsible for preparing and providing instruction to students in the classroom and online. BASAM courses are eligible for an additional High-Demand salary enhancement stipend beyond the initial salary placement.
