Position Summary
Are you passionate about teaching Anthropology? Have you contributed to learning environments resulting in equitable and dynamic outcomes? If these questions resonate with you, then we invite you to consider joining our team, an equity-focused open-access college dedicated to helping all students achieve their academic and professional goals. As a full-time Anthropology faculty member, you will be responsible for being a key member of the team that guides students through their learning and collaborates with colleagues. In this role, you will prepare and deliver instruction, assess student work, assign grades, maintain required instructional records, develop curricula as needed, collaborate through committee participation, and work on contractually agreed-upon activities listed within the AFT Seattle/Seattle Colleges Agreement. The College seeks faculty members who can adapt to a variety of teaching situations, use instructional technology effectively, and work collaboratively with students, staff, and others in an urban college that is committed to equity, diversity, inclusion, and community as components of student success. AFT Washington is a state federation affiliated with the 1.6 million American Federation of Teachers, AFL-CIO. We represent about 6,500 members including faculty from the community and technical colleges and pre-K through 12 classified employees. We also jointly represent professors at Eastern, Central, and Western Washington universities and The Evergreen College with the Washington Education Association.
