MLK Labor Issues Early Endorsements
February 18, 2021
MLK Labor Delegates, which represent more than 150 unions in King County, voted Wednesday to endorse Seattle City Councilmember Teresa Mosqueda and King County Executive Dow Constantine for re-election to their respective offices.
MLK Labor Executive Secretary-Treasurer Nicole Grant issued the following statements about the endorsements.
“MLK is proud to endorse Dow Constantine in his re-election to King County Executive. Executive Constantine is a proven ally of King County’s workers and has consistently opened his doors to the labor community. With Dow, we know that Washington’s largest county will be a partner in creating family-wage union jobs and ensuring the highest labor standards. Labor looks forward to re-electing Executive Dow Constantine.”
“MLK Labor is proud to endorse Councilwoman Teresa Mosqueda in her re-election to Seattle City Council. Four years ago, Councilwoman Mosqueda ran on the idea that working people shouldn’t just vote, they should put their name on the ballot. While in office, she has championed pro-worker legislation, worked to address systemic racism, and pioneered a Seattle Green New Deal. Re-electing Councilwoman Mosqueda will mean four more years of having a trusted champion for working families at City Hall.”
