Main Job Responsibilities
- Models and provides excellent, professional customer service
- Assists in grocery department operations, including training and guidance of grocery staff, ordering, productivity, and inventory as assigned by Grocery Coordinator and Grocery Lead
- Stocks grocery displays with attention to quantity, quality, timeliness, appearance of displays, and merchandising plan
- Handles price changes and signage, including ad change
- Fills in for Receiving, Night Crew, Dairy, and Beer & Wine departments when needed
- Ensures that the department sanitation, cleanliness, and safety standards are met
- Helps maintain integrity of organic standards for the bulk department
- While cashiering, accurately and efficiently scan and key items into register and processes all payments according to PCC standards
- Ensures department sanitation, cleanliness and safety standards are met
Qualifications and Skills
- Proven ability to provide excellent, professional customer service
- 2+ years grocery experience required
- Must be available to work mostly mid-day and evening shifts including weekends, and overnight and mornings when needed
- Excellent teambuilding, training, problem solving, organizational, and communication skills
- Computer knowledge and skills including Microsoft Office products and file management
- Previous cashiering experience preferred
- Strong merchandising skills preferred
- Ordering, inventory, receiving, beer & wine, and dairy experience a plus
- Must be able to meet physical demands of position including standing, bending, twisting, repetitive motion and lifting between 10-40lbs regularly
- A current Food Worker Card from the Washington State Department of Health is required
- Must be at least 18 years of age
