Job Summary/Basic Function:
Everett Community College is seeking applicants interested in teaching Mechatronics and Industrial Maintenance classes.
This is a pool posting and applicants will be contacted as openings occur.

This position reports to the Dean of Advance Manufacturing Training & Education Center (AMTEC). Responsibilities include:

  • Teach mechatronics curriculum to the Associate of Technical Arts degree and Certificates in Mechatronics
  • Teach and cross-train others to instruct PLCs, mechanical systems, electronics, pneumatics and hydraulics, and robotics
  • Demonstrate effective communications with diverse faculty and students with high level of cultural competency
  • Work with faculty as a part of an interdisciplinary team with project-based and inquiry-based teaching philosophy
  • Work assigned times, including some evenings
  • Use web-based and distance learning technologies, along with lecture and lab instruction
  • Develop lesson plans in keeping with formal core learning and program objectives
  • Provide information and referral to students needing special assessment for program
  • Serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME), as needed, for purchasing of equipment, materials and supplies
  • Develop, update and post course syllabi in timely manner
  • Evaluate student performance fairly and consistently and return student work promptly to promote maximum learning
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and submit final grade rosters according to established deadlines
