Position Summary

This position performs library reference and instruction duties within the Library Team at Skagit Valley College. This team supports students, faculty, and staff. Reference and instruction are the primary responsibilities which include delivering, designing, promoting, and advocating for library services and student success. This position works with other faculty librarians in selecting print, electronic collections, and materials to support programs and courses.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Create a positive learning environment for students using culturally responsive and sustaining practices to support and enhance student success;
• Provide general and specialized reference assistance to students, faculty, and staff;
• Select print and electronic materials in a variety of curriculum areas;
• Collaborate with faculty to develop online instruction materials;
• Partner with faculty to integrate information literacy instruction into the curriculum;
• Provide information literacy instruction both face-to-face and online;
• Adopt and use equity-minded approaches to teaching and learning for all students;
• Act according to principles of integrity, respect, open and honest communication, collaboration and compassion.
