Position Summary

Skagit Valley College (SVC) is accepting applications for Family Life Associate Faculty. Family Life Associate Faculty teach parent education classes to parents enrolled in the San Juan Island Childcare Cooperative.  At this time the San Juan Island Childcare Cooperatives provides childcare for children aged 3 and younger.

We are seeking an instructor who can teach two 3 credit parent education courses each quarter on a year-round basis.

The courses will consist of lab instruction in the childcare classroom and monthly parent meetings with each class of parents.  Course content will include infant and toddler development, behavior guidance strategies, and communication skills.

This position is based at the Head Start San Juan Center in Friday Harbor, located on San Juan Island. San Juan Island is the second largest island in a chain of 172 islands in the northernmost stretch of Puget Sound of the Salish Sea and is only an hour away from the mainland via the Washington Ferry system.
