Position Summary
Responsible to prepare and teach a variety of courses in the classroom, skills lab, and field settings. Involves clinical education coordination as well as maintaining liaison between the clinical sites and the program. Works closely with the Program Chair, Medical Director, and other EMS faculty. Reports to the Dean of Health, Business, and Professional Services.

  • Facilitates curriculum development, implementation and evaluation.
  • Teaches paramedic didactic and lab courses
  • Prepare course syllabi and schedules; prepare and teach classes and labs, prepare testing materials and evaluate student learning outcomes.
  • Team teach Department of Transportation EMT-Paramedic curriculum.
  • Schedule, supervise, and evaluate student's clinical and field rotations, including extensive ride-alongs with students in the field or performance evaluations.
  • Serve as primary liaison with clinical sites with regular visits
  • Counsel students regarding didactic, clinical and field performance.
  • Recruit, select, and advise students.
  • Work with preceptors concerning student objectives and evaluations.
  • Participate actively in departmental committees and other responsibilities, including curriculum review and design
  • Serve on faculty committees, participate in division and college activities and perform duties normally assigned to full-time faculty members.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.
