GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

The server is responsible for promptly greeting and attending to the dining needs of the Member and guest. The server will offer the Member and guest all dining options available, submit the orders to the Kitchen and serve the selections in a professional and timely manner. The server will process all Member and guest checks through the POS System. The server will assist in the maintenance of all service areas of the dining room. The server will work as a team member with other dining and service staff to model WAC values and contribute to the mission and vision.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

• Greets and observes Members and guests initial signals to respond with a service style appropriate to the observations. Regularly uses Member’s names. Works as a team member with other dining and service staff to model WAC values and contributes to the WAC mission and vision.
• Offers Members and guests all available options of the bar and dining room; answers product questions and up-sells at the appropriate opportunity. Takes orders, picks up and delivers requested and standard products in a timely and professional manner. Anticipates Member’s needs and acts promptly.
• Operates and processes all beverage and food orders through the POS System, correctly tracks Member and guest checks to ensure proper billing; correctly makes change for those using cash instead of Member cards.
• Contributes to the cleanliness of the dining room and it’s service areas, and completes all assigned side-work.
• Thorough knowledge of product, cooking technique and presentation in regards to menu, fresh sheet and beverage menu. Comfortable and capable of up-selling all options available in the Food and Beverage Department.
• Strictly abides by WSLCB guidelines on the service of alcohol and by the policies assigned by the Washington Athletic Club and the F&B policy guide.
• Embrace and execute marketing campaigns, strategies and promotions. To be measured as per outline for each.
• Demonstrates knowledge of activities in the Club House and the local downtown area.
