Lake Washington Institute of Technology is seeking a qualified Full-Time Assistant Professor of Architecture to teach in our Architectural Technology Program. This Professor position requires a minimum of two years of related industry experience and college teaching experience preferred, with industry certifications preferred.
Candidates must be available to start teaching at the beginning of Fall quarter, September 2022. Expertise in software: AutoCAD, Revit, Sketch-Up; Architecture, Design; four years of related experience to the Architecture/Engineering/Construction (AEC) industry is required.
Essential Functions:
- Teach beginning design, drawing, theory courses
- Teach architectural fundamental courses
- Teach architecture design studio courses
- Teach materials and methods courses
- Teach AutoCAD to beginning-level students
- Teach Revit to beginning-level students
- Plan and develop a variety of instruction objectives and experiences appropriate to the program goals
- Identify individual learning needs of students and make appropriate adjustments
- Develop and teach to the objectives of the approved curriculum
- Develop and teach lessons which foster and support cultural diversity, equity, and inclusion
- Develop classroom and lab procedures in conformance with identified policies and procedures
- Maintain appropriate records which indicate student progress and meet college requirements
- Follow disciplinary procedures as prescribed and deal consistently and fairly with all students
- Design learning experiences for the unique characteristics of individual adult students through classes, individual instruction and self-directed learning
In addition, full-time faculty will also:
- Maintain regular office hours
- Develop and assess program, curriculum, and educational outcomes.
- Perform advising, recruiting, and retention activities
- Take part in college accreditation, program review, and college committees as specified in the faculty bargained agreement
- May receive, as approved, release time to work on professional growth activities
- Perform other professional activities as approved by the Dean of Health Sciences
