Boeing Test and Evaluation (BT&E) is seeking experienced Calibration Specialists to join our team in Everett, WA.

A Calibration Specialist in this position will devise and perform computations necessary to analyze measurement test results. Develop metrology processes, basic uncertainty analysis, and procedures for performing calibration and certification of M&TE/ process equipment. Troubleshoot and resolve laboratory and test-related problems. Give direction, assistance, and guidance to employees of lower classification.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Plan, check, set up, and operate, measurement and test equipment (M&TE) and/or process equipment and use calibration standards to calibrate, adjust, certify, test, maintain, and repair M&TE/ process equipment using approved calibration procedures, process specifications, equipment drawings, and M&TE/ process equipment manufacturer’s performance specifications
  • Route M&TE between receiving area and calibration lab. Update equipment status using established systems and complete associated paperwork
  • Ensure equipment is ready for calibration per metrology processes
  • Prioritize and perform work according to automated daily report list, hot list, or as assigned
  • Perform visual check of M&TE for discrepancies and wear
  • Identify, document, and route non-conformance items in accordance with metrology lab processes
  • Provide technical assistance on metrology processes and procedures, as necessary to employees of lesser grade and internal Boeing calibration customers such as Quality Engineering and technical support
  • With little to no assistance from higher graded employees, engage in the calibration and certification of M&TE and develop new calibration processes and procedures
  • Work with, sequence and check the work of employees of lower classification engaged in performing the calibration and certification of M&TE.
  • Support the development of project plans associated with capital equipment acquisition and metrology initiatives

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position must meet export control compliance requirements. Tomeet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required.“U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee. 

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years of experience calibrating and/or using Measurement and Test Equipment (M&TE)
  • Must have intermediate skills with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel (or equivalent tools), with the ability to perform calculations and analyze data in Excel
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 35 pounds frequently within an 8 hour shift

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Associate’s degree in Electronics/electrical technician
  • Associate’s degree in a science or technical field
  • Precision metrology equipment lab training
  • 1+ years of experience of performing electrical calibrations in a laboratory

Relocation:

Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.

Shift:

This position is for 2nd shift.

This is an hourly position governed by the International Association of Machinists (IAM-751) Collective Bargaining agreement.
