Executive Secretary-Treasurer
Katie Garrow, Laborers Local 242 katie (at) mlklabor.org (She/Her)
Katie Garrow has served as Executive Secretary-Treasurer of MLK Labor since 2021, bringing 15 years of experience organizing workers, negotiating union contracts, and lobbying to the role. At the Labor Council, she has grown labor’s political power across South King County by helping to elect over 100 union members to public office; won more than $80 billion in funding for union-built and operated housing, transportation, clean energy, and healthcare infrastructure; and overseen a multiunion organizing program that has unionized 16,000 workers.
Raised in a working-class family in rural Washington, Katie is committed to building the biggest, most diverse, multiracial, LGBTQ+ inclusive, powerful local labor movement that fights for all of us. She holds a BA in Spanish from Pacific Lutheran University and lives in South King County with her husband and two kids.
