Resolution in support of the Federal Unionist Network’s “ICE out of our workplace” rally

WHEREAS, the Martin Luther King County Labor Council approved the Resolution in Support of Weekly Friday Rallies at the Federal Building in support of Federal Workers, their contracts, and Union

WHEREAS, the Trump administration has conducted immigration and customs enforcement (ICE) raids at the Jackson Federal Building, where unwarranted arrests and inhumane conditions of detention have occurred.

WHEREAS, this creates unsafe and disruptive working conditions for federal workers, sows fear among workers and community members, and prevents public servants from providing essential services to members of the public.

WHEREAS, the Federal Unionists Network–a network of federal workers and union members–is organizing an Informational Picket at the Jackson Federal Building to shed light on and oppose such abuses occurring at federal facilities.

WHEREAS, this Informational Picket is in line with the WA State Labor Council’s call to respond to the Trump administration’s order for ICE Special Response Teams to prepare for deployment to Seattle.

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that MLK Labor will endorse the Federal Unionists Network’s Informational Picket at the Jackson Federal Building on 6/25/2025 at 4:30 PM.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that MLK Labor will promote the event and encourage its affiliates’ members to attend.
