Essential Functions:
- Prepare pre-planned cycle menus in an efficient and effective manner
- Perform food preparation tasks as assigned.
- Ability to read production orders on tray cards
- Determine if the food prepared is of the highest possible quality in taste and flavor. Assist in planning cooking schedules. Confirm foods are ready on time for tray service.
- Maintain and improve standards of food storage, preparation, and services.
- Assist in checking food supplies on food order forms
- Pushes carts to halls or kitchen
- Maintains cleanliness and orderliness
- Cleaning up kitchen
- Dishwashing returned dishes trays pot and pans
- Ability to follow tray cards in setting up trays for serve out
- Ability to follow directions/instructions
- These positions entail weekend on call work
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Demonstrates knowledge of food preparation, sanitation, hygienic methods of food preparation and storage.
- Interpersonal skills
- Demonstrates competency in operating kitchen equipment.
- Moderate to heavy lifting (50-pound maximum), bending, reaching, and stooping.
Education, Licensure, and Experience:
- Required: Current Food Handlers card (or ability to obtain one) issued by local Health Department.
- Preferred: Prior cooking experience in a skilled nursing environment.
