  • Operates dishwasher and equipment according to instructions and maintains temperature logs.
  • Responsible for handling food in accordance with sanitary regulations.
  • Assists with resident trays and sets up meal carts before meals.
  • Assists with tray service.
  • Assists cook in serving and food preparation during busy times.
  • Returns carts to work area after each meal is served, cleans and sanitizes carts in preparation for next meal service.
  • Cleans transport carts after each meal and returns to proper location.
  • Knows food safety regulations and ensures all food is handled properly to avoid contamination and food borne illness.
  • Keeps dishwashing area, janitor closet, drawers and shelves clean.
  • Requests cleaning supplies as needed.
  • Assists in keeping kitchen and equipment clean and orderly.
  • Utilizes equipment in a safe, efficient manner and ensures equipment is in good working order prior and after use.
  • Responsible for maintaining a sanitary and cleanly work station.
  • Responsible for general cleaning of the kitchen area.
  • Serves personnel and Resident guests with courtesy.
  • Responsible for handling and preparing food in accordance with sanitary regulations.
  • Prepares foods according to standardized recipes.
  • Ensures that food prepared is palatable and appetizing in appearance.
  • Meets meal schedules and ensures that food is prepared on time but not too far in advance.
  • Knows food safety regulations and ensures all food is prepared properly to avoid contamination and food borne illness.
  • Takes temperatures of food prior to serving.
  • Avoids food waste by preparing servings according to portion control standards.
  • Assists in setting up and filling trays for resident’s meal service.
  • Utilizes equipment in a safe, efficient manner and ensures equipment is in good working order prior and after use.
  • May check in deliveries from various vendors.
  • Assists Dietary Manager in maintaining stock of items necessary for meal needs.
  • Will perform other duties as requested by supervisor.
